How to plug in and chargešŸ”Œ

If you have a tethered charger, fully unwind the charging cable before use to minimise potential trip hazards.
 
Firmly plug the charging connector into your vehicle.

Lock the vehicle. 

Check that the charger's status indicator lights are illuminated, confirming that the vehicle has been detected.

 

Scheduled Chargingā±ļø

If you have configured a charging schedule in the Indra app, or your charger is integrated with a smart tariff, the charger status lights will show green. Charging will begin automatically when:

  • The scheduled charging window starts, or
  • Your smart tariff provider initiates charging.

If no schedule is configured, you can start charging immediately by pressing the Boost button. For more information, see Boost.

The charger can provide ~7.4kW of power to the vehicle. However, the actual charging speed achieved by your vehicle depends on several factors, including:

  • The vehicle's maximum AC charging capability.
  • The charging cable rating (for untethered chargers)
  • Any charging limits configured within the vehicle
  • The capacity of the vehicle's onboard inverter
  • The vehicles current state of charge (SoC)
  • Battery temperature and overall battery health
  • Load curtailment
As a result, the charging rate displayed by your vehicle or charger may be lower than the charger's maximum output.

Once charging has completed:

  • Unlock the vehicle.
  • Disconnect the cable from the vehicle.
  • Safely stow the charging cable. For tethered chargers, neatly wrap the cable around the charger to help prevent trips and cable damage.

To help ensure safe and reliable charging, follow these best practices:
  • Inspect cables regularly: Check the physical cord and connector pins for any signs of wear, cracks, or dirt.
  • Store cables safely: Store cables neatly on wall hooks or wrapped around the charger to prevent tripping hazards and physical damage.
  • Do not force the connector: If the charging connector does not insert easily, check for obstructions and try again. Never force the plug into the vehicle.
  • Keep connectors clean and dry: Before connecting, check that the charging plug is free from dirt, debris and excessive moisture.
  • Use the charger as intended: Only use compatible charging equipment and do not attempt to modify the charger or cable.
