Solar & Battery Interaction 🔋☀️
Indra chargers cannot differentiate between solar export and battery export.
This means the charger can and will drain your home storage battery in certain circumstances—often not the desired behaviour.
Indra chargers cannot communicate directly with the home storage battery.
Ways to Mitigate This Issue
- Set the battery charging schedule to match the vehicle charging schedule. This way, the battery will be busy charging instead of discharging into the vehicle.
- Turn off the battery when the vehicle is charging.
- Configuring the installation so the battery does not discharge into the vehicle.
Configuring the Installation to Prevent Battery Drain 🔋🚫
These methods can only be used if the charger is supplied from its own consumer unit, fed directly from the main supply.
How to Configure:
Move the home storage battery CT to a position where it cannot detect the charger’s load -this prevents the battery from discharging into the EV charger.
