What is Boost? ⚡
Boost is a feature that when activated allows you to start charging immediately, overriding any scheduled charging settings.
When Boost is activated, the charger will start charging your vehicle straight away, regardless of any existing charging schedules or Time of Use tariff settings. This can be useful if you need to charge before an unexpected journey or do not want to wait for the next scheduled charging session.
How to use Boost⚡
Boost is turned on by pressing the button on the front of the charger or in the App on the home screen
To stop a Boost charge, simply press the Boost button again.
When should I use Boost? ⏱️
Use Boost when:
- You need to charge sooner than planned.
- You want to override a charging schedule.
- You need to charge outside of your normal off-peak window.
Boost does not:
- Charge your vehicle faster.
- Change your charger's power output.
- Alter your vehicle's charging limits.
Boost Button on the charger 🔌
The boost button on the charger is touch-sensitive button, it does not click.
This means it requires the majority of the button to be covered to be activated.
Once pressed it will make short beep and you can release, you do not need to press and hold the button to activate Boost.
Boost in the app 📱
The boost button in the app can be found on the home page. 🏠
It will only be available to use a vehicle is plugged into the charger and the charger is online.
If the charger is offline or not connected to a vehicle it will be grey and you will not be able to click it.
⚠️If the Boost button is unavailable in the app, check the following:
- The vehicle is plugged in correctly.
- The charger is online.
- You are logged into the correct account.
- The charger is not currently in an error state - What the lights on the charger mean.
- The charger is not locked - Lock.

💡Things to note:
- The boost button on your charger can still be used if your charger is not connected to the internet, however, you will not be able to activate it through the app. For more information on connecting to the internet, please refer to this page - Connectivity
- Charging will start immediately and continue until the vehicle reaches its target charge level, is unplugged, or Boost is stopped.
- Boost does not increase the maximum charging speed of your vehicle or charger. It simply starts charging immediately.
- If you start a Boost session outside your off-peak tariff hours, the electricity used may be charged at your supplier's higher daytime rate. Check your energy tariff for details. 💰
- Once Boost ends, the charger will return to its normal scheduled charging behaviour.
